How to Overcome Depression | My Story

Hello Warriors,

Have you ever being in to a situation where there is suffering over suffering and it's like there's no way out?
As you may all know by now, we are all going through collective changes and each of us is experiencing huge shifts in all levels in order to release the old and create the new.
I'm here to support, encourage and guide you through this journey!

There I was, seating in front of the mirror looking at my surroundings..it's been almost two years that another part of myself died after breaking up with my bf.. but I made a promise to myself to never give up no matter what..I was pushing through these changes like a warrior and I made it! A new me has now emerged. It doesn't matter what happened and what brought me to that stage of depression anymore..because now I'm out of it and stronger like never before..

How?

I made space for my feelings and emotions to evolve through all the necessary stages. I took the time to talk to my inner child and hear my needs, I took the time to heal the wounds of my emotional body. If you are in this kind of situation, allow your feelings to move with love at a pace that you choose until you fully accept your situation. Depression = Deep rest!

Take time to decondition and remove any attachments that you may have from any aspects of self. Be in an objective space. As the inner world shifts, more clarity comes in so that external choices can be made in alignment with your soul's desires.

Build a relationship with your feelings

There are feelings that you may reject at times and hide them in your subconscious. Take the time to get to know you. Allow yourself to be just like it is. Make small adjustments day by day and if you feel like going out to nature then go! Seat in the sun and hug yourself, give it all the love that it needs. Nobody knows you better that you know yourself! Step into your own mastership! You don't have to force yourself to do anything that you don't what to do. Take it slow.

When you allow yourself to be in the moment and love your darkness and your light (they are both sides of you), then by time comes more clarity and balance. Honour your emotions. Clear the old programming day by day with your inner mastery. Own each moment like you chose it. Transmute and transform those energies. Clear any attachments or beliefs that you may have and let go, let things come up to be released from your system.

A few days ago I publicly announced on my Facebook page what was the reason I promised so many times to make Youtube videos but never started...What was that reason that was keeping me from expressing myself fully?

Well..many reasons..All this time I was trying to heal my wounds are release the old programming..but in the back of my mind I used to have specific goals and a strict image of how things should turn out.. but as the months went by...things changed in me and I no longer wanted to film anything..it was like stating things on camera that the next day weren't resonating with who I was in that moment. I was uploading and then deleting...uploading and deleting...

Cycles within cycles

''So there is this thing going on for a few months now...Apart from the private healing sessions that I do.. I was planning to make videos and collaborations about many ideas that I've had and still have (about my transition to minimalism, veganism, my book , how a modelling job offer from a French photographer  changed my perception in life, plus my weight-gain, how I overcame depression etc)... and after reviewing ALL these from different perspectives...I came to the conclusion that...I don't like doing this anymore as this was an old programming that I had and I wasn't sure if it was imposed to me subconsciously or not. I did go though a break up with my boyfriend and thought many other changes and I came to a point where I got numb...I had to just BE and observe until!

After taking  the necessary time to heal my inner child, I came to a point where I could see my core self clearer with no distractions...I'd rather blog my ideas now than film them. It's not that I feel bad about myself or anything like that...because I did test myself on this and that isn't the issue anymore. I do love myself! This really fascinated me because I feel that by writing I have more time to express what I love and it's easier for me to add things in a text than in a video...I know it might look easy to some of you but I haven't though of this option until now...This doesn't mean that I will never film anything from now on because I like flow and change so time will show what's important to me. The main thing is that this is what I like doing *in the here and now*

So why complicate things when there's always an alternative way?!
For me, the mental shift was a slow process.I didn’t want stuff to control my life, but I had tried and failed many times by trying to gain control over the situation.

“How would your life be different if…
You stopped worrying about things you can’t control and started focusing on the things you can?
Let today be the day…
You free yourself from fruitless worry, seize the day and take effective action on things you can change.”

Minimalism
I started to realise that this influx of belongings directly correlated with my decrease in mental and emotional stability.

I realised that something was greatly weighing me down... having so many THINGS (from clothes to subconscious thoughts that I had to let go of). The act of de-cluttering is incredibly thrilling. It's like a game. How simply can you live? I have been consistently playing this game over the past year and I am really enjoying the ebb and flow of it all. Minimalism has been a powerful part of my self discovery journey.
The change was slow, but it did come. The more I got rid of, the more my thoughts changed and the less attached I was to stuff, the more I was able to get rid of. It was a very exciting realisation. Minimalism for me has eliminated the distractions, so I could focus on what I needed: deeper relationships with myself and others around me. That is what decreased my depression and brought me contentment. Cleaning my space helped me regain my balance. I had more space in my room to seat and enjoy..and all of a sudden cleaning my room meant..clearing my mind. Each time a negative thought arose..I would go and clean something! Now everything is organised. I even started exercising again because I made space for it  and everything else followed! Inspiration, creativity, motivation..care of self...Self love means so much to me now that I don't even think about the past anymore...How funny..what once made me cry to death now seems like a tiny fingerprint on a window that can be wiped in an instant ;)

The Link Between Minimalism and Spirituality

Conscious Alignment Platform is where I share my story.  It's the place of my personal motivation and inspiration. It's where my soul expresses fully >> here .''

Minimalism is an old concept that has been practiced throughout the ages. Minimalist living is a simple approach to life. It is a way to re-examine our values.
Spirituality’ is a state of being. It can be a catalyst for personal transformation. It can also be described as an awakening to the oneness and interconnectedness of all life.
Minimalism seeks to clear up time and space so that you may lead life in an organised, joyful manner. It helps us to determine what is meaningful to each one of us, just as spirituality leads us to find meaning and purpose. It is a path to finding inner contentment, just as spirituality leads the seeker inward. It's our permission slip to the new.

Minimalism and spirituality both help us to assess our lives and determine what is really important  and to live our lives from the heart and soul, rather than from our emotional baggage.

Here are a few concepts and practices I find helpful:

Just Be

In our busy lives, we are always doing something. We have forgotten what it is like to be still and quiet. There is so much to do that we have no time to just be. However, we need that quiet, still time for inner reflection if we are to discover our spiritual growth. The pursuit of minimalism can help us attain that state of being by removing distractions that limit our focus.

Less Stuff, More Time
Taking a minimalistic approach to life can reduce the amount of time we spend doing unnecessary tasks. By eliminating clutter from our surroundings and life, we can create the opportunity to pursue other aspects of our inner selves. We can meditate, practice yoga, read, write or expand our self-awareness. Much of what we do on a daily basis is so routine based that we perform our tasks almost mindlessly. We follow these routines because that is what we think we need to do to survive. The trick is to lift your mind above that. Only you can do that for yourself.

Know Thy Self

Spirituality is the path of knowing yourself. Minimalism can help clear that path. People who reach a certain level of spirituality understand the futility of solely pursuing materialism. They realise that everyone and everything is simply energy and that all is connected. They give up the need to compare with others and acquire more.

Positive Vibrations

Minimalism isn’t just about reducing material clutter. It is about how we live our lives. Life is meant to be enjoyable. It is not supposed to be filled with stress and negativity. We run around trying to perform more tasks than we have time for and trying to be perfect 24/7 in our various duties. This behaviour often has us stressed, frustrated and exhausted.
Spirituality is about achieving inner peace in a chaotic world. We rarely feel that inner peace, because we are so filled with the stress of daily life. If we take a minimalistic approach to life, we can focus on doing only what we need-want to do. Being a spiritual minimalist also means not succumbing to the negativity around us. We may not be able to avoid all negativity, but we can limit our exposure to it.

Here is what I do:
  • Keep conversations short and sweet when in contact with negative people.
  • Avoid watching TV or any other negative programming.
  • Listen to uplifting music and read inspirational material.
  • Connect with people with positive, uplifting attitude.
  • As I continue to clear away the clutter and negativity in my life, I force myself to find the time to seat, do nothing and just be.
Making room for what matters.
Sounds simple, but it’s hardly easy

Sustaining a spiritual practice requires removing what no longer serves you, the same process to living a minimalistic lifestyle.

What is that exactly?

All this stuff we occupy our time and space with, everything from endless shopping, to mindless amounts of television, to the clutter in our homes and the unresolved recurring issues in our lives. When you can work towards eliminating the unnecessary, you are doing the first half of the work required to make room for what really matters, by getting rid of all that is holding you down. By doing so, you create time and energy for more fulfilling things. So, the initial step is to eliminate in order to pave the way for higher thinking and living.

Living intentionally

When you create a consistent spiritual practice, it gradually helps you focus on living a more balanced life. You begin living more intentionally, you think twice before making a purchase, you consciously look at what your needs are for everyday living, you move away from consumerist culture, and you become stronger in your own beliefs and not let others’ opinions sway you from your centre. You begin realising the importance of the values you hold and how they determine your actions. In the same way, minimalism motivates you to make the most of your time, feel more grateful for what you do have, and not waste away your energy on the needless.

Freeing your mind

Our minds become so preoccupied and cluttered with things that are both unproductive and of almost no real importance. Such as Facebook posts, where we are going to store our 40 pairs of shoes or being unable to forgive ourselves for something that happened many years ago, can be time-consuming and toxic to the mind. Rather, when we begin to surround ourselves with things, people, and an environment that are purposeful and positive, our mental energy can go towards resolving and working through the heaviness that weighs us down. Our minds become free to concentrate on creating expanded awareness and personal growth.
